Alzchem Group AG puts new Creamino plant into operation
Alzchem Group AG officially commissioned its new Creamino plant.
Trostberg, September 13, 2019 – AlzChem Group AG, a vertically integrated specialty chemicals supplier with leading market positions in select niche markets, officially commissioned its new Creamino plant at the Trostberg Chemical Park yesterday. The company has thus tripled its production capacity for this fast-growing feed additive from around 7,000 tons to around 21,000 tons.
“To build a production plant of this size and complexity in less than one and a half years was an ambitious project indeed. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all my colleagues who have contributed to the successful and, above all, on-schedule and on-budget implementation,” said Andreas Niedermaier, Chairman of the Management Board of AlzChem, at the official commissioning of the new plant, which, at approx. EUR 50 million, represents the largest investment in the company’s history. The innovative and strongly growing feed additive Creamino is a patented development of AlzChem. At the beginning of the year AlzChem also took over and has developed sales of the product itself.
“The market for feed additives is growing steadily and the global demand for Creamino is increasing. With our expanded capacities, we can meet the needs of our growing customer base and fully exploit the growth potential of our product,” said Georg Weichselbaumer, CSO of AlzChem Group AG. AlzChem also expects positive impetus to come from Switzerland, where the use of Creamino has been permitted for piglets and fattening pigs since January 1, 2019, and from Japan, where a generic approval for Creamino for chickens for fattening has been in place since May 31, 2019.
The main growth driver in the market for feed additives is the rapidly growing world population with limited agricultural land so that greater efficiency in agriculture is becoming increasingly important for ensuring supplies. With its considerable potential for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, Creamino also meets the growing demand for greater sustainability in food production.
