Alzchem Group AG wins European Responsible Care Award 2024
“Reducing Methane Emissions from Slurry Storage” project named winner in the Circular Economy and Climate Neutrality category
Alzchem Group AG has won the European Responsible Care Award 2024 in the category “Time for Change” (subcategory “Circular Economy and Climate Neutrality”). With the award-winning project “Reduction of Methane Emissions from Slurry Storage”, Alzchem Group impressively demonstrates its commitment to sustainable innovation and climate protection.
The awards honor companies that advance the goals of the Antwerp Declaration, a call to strengthen European industry in line with the EU Green Deal. The aim is to secure high-quality jobs while promoting sustainable industrial practices.
With Eminex® Alzchem has developed a unique product that can drastically reduce emissions from liquid manure storage after years of scientific research. Stirred into the slurry, it inhibits up to 100% of methane, CO2 and nitrous oxide emissions during storage. Eminex® itself breaks down in the slurry within a few weeks. This is a new and important contribution to reducing the environmental impacts associated with livestock farming.
Alzchem demonstrated the functionality of Eminex® in its research project on the basis of various cooperative trials. The jury particularly praised the outstanding results of the project. The comprehensive documentation and innovative strength of the project were also positively emphasized.
“This award is proof of our commitment to environmental protection and sustainability. We are very pleased to receive this recognition at the European level,” said Martin Eberl, Vice President Agriculture.
