DYHARD® - Alzchem develops an improved epoxy resin system for hydrogen mobility
Under the brand name DYHARD®, Alzchem markets six different product lines of high-performance crosslinkers for thermosetting epoxy applications. These high-performance crosslinkers based on dicyandiamide hardeners and urone/lmidazole accelerators are used in the adhesives, powder coatings and, in particular, composites industries.
The DYHARD® SYS-product range includes a fully pre-formulated epoxy system based on a latent liquid DYHARD® hardener and a DYHARD® epoxy resin. The products and systems of the DYHARD® SYS range are used in special market segments, such as filament winding.
Now a new system has been added to the successful range: DYHARD® RF2200/Fluid 222 has been specially developed for wet winding of H2 compressed gas cylinders, as used in hydrogen cars. The combination of liquid resin and liquid hardener is a further development of the proven DYHARD® RF2100/Fluid 212 system with even higher productivity.
The new DYHARD® system also has very good mechanical end properties, in particular high strength combined with high toughness. It also requires remarkably short curing times - depending on the laminate thickness.
The system also makes an important contribution in terms of sustainability: with DYHARD® RF2200/Fluid 222, less resin has to be disposed of from the bath compared to other epoxy resin systems due to the very high latency - in other words, less waste is generated.
