Very often, growers find too small and irregular sized fruits during harvest. In order to solve this problem Sitofex® is applied successfully.
Sitofex® is a plant growth regulator that improves the fruit size and quality in various fruit crops, especially table grapes and kiwifruit.
It allows the fruit grower to increase the fruit size and consequently the production, preserving all the quality characteristics, such as the original shape of the fruit, the organoleptic features and the dry matter content.
Therefore the obtained yield is higher, together with fruits of bigger, regular size and with the best quality.
The active ingredient of Sitofex is forchlorfenuron (CPPU). It is manufactured in Germany under high quality standards including ISO 9001 and TÜV Certification. These high standards for production and handling, assure that the product will perform as indicated.
Ongoing research programs support the development of best management practices for optimizing the growth of crops under ever changing and often challenging conditions.
Storage and Safety instructions
Keep out of the reach of children. Keep containers tightly closed in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place. Avoid light effect, sun rays and heat effect. Keep away from food, drink and animal feeding stuffs.

Effect
Sitofex® works similarly to cytokinins, which occur naturally in plants, but Sitofex® is substantially more effective. A few grams of the active substance per hectare are sufficient to achieve the desired results.
Sitofex® stimulates cell division and cell elongation and therefore induces an increase of the cell number and cell wall thickness. Under normal conditions fruit quality and shelf life are also improved.
Sitofex® is the perfect tool to manage fruit size and quality.
Crops
Sitofex® is not systemic and does not translocate within the plant. For this reason a complete and uniform coverage of the fruits is essential. Apply as a fine mist and avoid droplet formation.
Sitofex® penetrates the epidermis within approx. 6 hours. Do not apply if rain is expected and avoid applying Sitofex during the hottest hours of the day.
As Sitofex® often results in a important yield increase, fertilization and irrigation should be adjusted accordingly. Generally, the product performs best in healthy and well nourished plants.
The product rate and application time may change depending on the variety and local conditions. Please follow the indications on the label and contact your local distributor to find the best application conditions and rates in your orchard.
Sitofex® stimulates cell division and cell elongation in the berry tissue and favorably affects the growth of the whole bunch. Consequently the obtained yield is higher.
Berry weight, as well as the polar and equatorial diameter is increased, however it is important to note that the original characteristics of the variety remain unchanged, e.g. bunch and berry shape, sugar content, acidity, pH and color.
Sitofex® also increases the cell wall thickness. As a consequence, the berry texture and consequently the shelf life are also improved.
Thinning is recommended in order to avoid too compact bunches due to bigger berries. Do not apply Sitofex® before end of natural thinning.

Please also consider that on some varieties high Sitofex® rates may occasionally cause delays in ripening and fruit coloration.

As a consequence, the fruit size is increased in a harmonious way, preserving all the quality characteristics, such as the original shape of the fruit, the organoleptic features and the dry matter content. Therefore, the obtained yield is higher, with fruits of bigger size and with best quality.
It is also important to note that Sitofex® does not delay kiwifruit ripening.
The Sitofex® application has additionally positive effects on the storage stability. It has been frequently observed that treated fruits are firmer and therefore show a better shelf life.
