CaD®
Alzchem offers highly efficient products based on calcium carbide for hot metal desulphurisation in both transfer and torpedo ladles.
In our CaD® products, the calcium carbide is finely ground. Various additives are added to the different CaD® mixtures - according to customer requirements - so that the performance of the product is optimised in line with the customer's processes and requirements. The additives are used, for example, as gas separators and/or to modify the slag and thus reduce iron losses. By using CaD® mixtures, our customers can achieve the lowest possible sulphur targets.
Transport options
Most of the transport takes place by rail in wagons specially approved for calcium carbide, but suitable silo vehicles for road transport are also available. Our wagon fleet is also equipped with a GPS system so that we can also provide our customers with logistical support and the corresponding service.
